Animal Cell Organelle Cut and Paste

Animal Cell Organelle Cut and Paste

$ 8.50

Students will create their own animal cell.  MOST OF THIS IS EDITABLE, except the pictures, in case you want to add or delete an organelle, or modify a cell's function (change the wording to make it simpler or more complex, or add more detail) depending on your grade level.  This activity is AWESOME to include in a science interactive notebook. This product is a zip file that contains a pdf document and a Microsoft Word document (version 97-2003).

USE IT FOR AN INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK – Have your students color, cut out, and glue the animal cell into the interactive notebook or on a blank piece of paper. Then have your students hand write in the names of the organelles. You can either give the students the page that has the cell organelles with the organelles labels (the names of the organelles) or the page that doesn’t have the organelles’ names. You decide! It’s great for differentiating instruction!

OR USE IT FOR A GROUP PROJECT: Instead of just having your students identify the names of the organelles, take it a step further, and have your students identify the function of the organelles as well (see preview). INSTEAD your students will place the animal cell on a LARGE construction paper (12 in. X 18 in.) and then paste the cells’ organelles, the names of the organelles, and their function on it.

This product includes:

- Blank animal cell
- Organelles color & cut page WITH organelle labels.
- Organelles color & cut page WITHOUT organelle labels (for differentiating instruction or to provide more of a challenge)
- Answer Key Example

Structures Covered: cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondrion, smooth endoplasmic reticulum, rough endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, Golgi apparatus, cytoskeleton, lysosomes, and centrioles.
